New recruit Ryan Robbins is looking to bury the hatchet with King's Lynn Town fans as he looks forward to a fresh start in Norfolk.

The former Coalville Town hot-shot has swapped Owen Street for The Walks after the Linnets pipped his former side to the title. His arrival has split opinion among some Lynn fans but Robbins insists he is now keen to draw a line under his past run-ins with his new club's supporters – most of which came on social networking website Twitter.

The 25-year-old said: 'I'm all for rivalries and stuff but at the end of the day it's a decision that I've made for myself. For the better of myself and my family as well. What's happened in the past is in the past. Things were said, it's gone, and there's nothing you can do about it now.

'We move on and look to the future. I can't wait to meet up with the lads and get pre-season started and get the campaign going.'

The pacy striker played in the Midland Alliance (Step Five) before netting 50 goals in 127 appearances for the still Step Four Ravens.

'It's a bit surreal to be here but I'm looking forward to it,' admitted Robbins.

'One of the players enquired and I thought he was joking.

Then I asked him; 'is he (boss Gary Setchell) actually interested?' and it all went from there really.

'It's a big move for me because I've never actually been as high (Step Three) as I am at the minute. So to be given the opportunity to show what I can do at a higher level is good.'
