King's Lynn Stars will be looking to reignite their play-off push this evening and heap more misery on struggling Peterborough Panthers.

Rob Lyon's men make the short trip to Cambridgeshire for the third A47 derby of 2013, having lost five of their last six meetings.

Despite suffering a torrid run of injury problems, which has seen them slip outside of the top-four, Lynn's campaign has still been far superior to that of their fierce rivals.

Peterborough lost home and away to the Stars in March's Good Friday double-header and sit bottom, having just won three times. But Lyon, pictured, insists his men are far from favourites going into tonight's tie.

'I don't think their changes, pound for pound, will make much difference to what they were before,' said the Lynn boss, whose men are sixth in the 10-team Elite League.

'Sometimes changes psychologically can have a positive effect on the rest of the team. But anything can happen in a derby and I'd say there are no favourites because while they have had a wretched season, so have we in terms of injuries.'

Panthers will track the returning Norbert Kosciuch, Krzysztof Buczkowski and Joonas Kylmakorpi for the first time after axing injured duo Linus Sundstrom and Kenni Larsen, as well as former Stars rider Nicolai Klindt.

The visitors' Niels-Kristian Iversen, Rory Schlein and captain Mads Korneliussen – making his long-awaited comeback from injury – have all ridden for the Panthers and Lyon is sure their knowledge of the East of England Showground oval can only help his side.

The Stars' chief said: 'It's a massive boost to have our captain back. He's someone that scores solid points at most tracks and we've missed him. Peterborough is quite familiar to most of the boys and hopefully we can make that pay.'

Swede Seb Alden (foot) misses out through injury while Latvian Andzejs Lebedevs misses out due to World Cup commitments. Somerset's Alex Davies will guest in his place.
