Shane 'Shakey' Byrne believes he is in a strong position heading to Snetterton's forthcoming weekend of the MCE British Superbike Championship action.
With a six-week break since Josh Brookes ended his winning streak by just 0.118 seconds, Byrne aims to press on with his bid for a record-breaking fourth title come the end of the season.
The Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki rider leads the standings ahead of Sunday's two Snetterton races.
Byrne said: 'The start of the season has been nearly perfect; I wasn't too upset to lose out to Yamaha in the second race knowing the good results they have had there in the past. We had a great couple of rounds to start the season and it has been nice to have some time off but at the same time, I have used it to train even harder and I am possibly even fitter now than I was at the start of the season.
'Yes we have had two great rounds, but as a team we certainly haven't been resting on our laurels since Oulton Park.
'We had the pre-season test at Snetterton, which was really good, and I know some of our rivals have been out on track there recently, but I know we can get straight up to speed.
'I am coming back physically strong, the team have worked hard to give me an even better bike, and I know we will be ready to get back out and push for results.'
Sunday won't just see the Norfolk crowd treated to scintillating bike action – Snetterton will also be treated to 10-minute display by the legendary B-17 Flying Fortress – Snetterton having originally been a World War II RAF airfield.
Duxford-based Flying Fortress, Sally B, is scheduled to perform the honorary fly-past at around 1pm – and will also act as part of a tribute by the circuit to Marham's RAF Reserves rider Simon Andrews, who died in a crash at the North West 200 Road Race earlier this month. Andrews raced with the number 17.
