Fakenham bowls ace Jamie Chestney will win the first Commonwealth Games medal of his career today.

Chestney is part of the England fours team which faces Scotland in the Gold Medal match in Glasgow from 12.45pm today, following a 14-12 semi-final win against India yesterday.

The 27-year-old, who has lived in Fakenham most of his life but is now based in Devon, is looking to avenge a disappointing 16-15 loss to Wales in the quarter-finals of the triples competition earlier in the Games.

Norfolk-born squash stars Laura Massaro and James Willstrop are looking to secure their second medals of the Games as well today.

Massaro, originally from Great Yarmouth, won silver in the women's singles after losing to number one seed Nicol David of Malaysia in the final on Monday.

The 30-year-old and her doubles partner Jenny Duncalf face the other England team of Alison Waters and Emma Beddoes in the doubles semi-final at 2pm today.

That follows a 2-0 victory against the Australian pairing of Lisa Camilleri and Donna Urquhart at the Scotstoun Campus yesterday.

Willstrop, who was born in North Walsham but now lives in North Yorkshire, is in doubles quarter-final action.

The 30-year-old also won silver in the singles on Monday, losing 3-2 to England colleague Nick Matthew in a hard fought final.

He bids to reach the doubles semi-final with partner Daryl Selby this morning, facing the New Zealand pair of Lance Beddoes and Paul Coll from 11.30am.

If they advance, Willstrop and Selby will be in semi-final action tomorrow, while Massaro and Duncalf would be in action again tomorrow if they are successful, in the women's doubles gold medal match.
