Lowestoft Town joint boss Ady Gallagher admitted the Blues are already starting to plan for next season ahead of their trip to Colwyn Bay this afternoon.

The Blues made mathematically sure of Conference football next season after a 2-2 draw against Hednesford last weekend and Gallagher has already turned his thoughts to the following campaign.

Lowestoft will be hoping to move into the Conference South, although much will depend on who is promoted and relegated into step two of the non league pyramid. Despite the uncertainty Gallagher and first team coach Dan Gleeson are expecting to sit down with chairman Gary Keyzor in the coming weeks and start moulding a playing squad for the 2015/16 campaign.

'We've got a couple of players that are out of contract in the summer and we need to talk to the chairman about contracts and a few other things for next season,' said Gallagher.

'It's difficult for us because we don't know what league we will be in. We know we're going to be at Conference level, which is obviously a good thing, but we would prefer to be in the south.

'But there's a great spirit among the lads and it's something we want to build on for next season.'

Gallagher admitted there are players in the squad that will be keen on catching the management's eye in the final two games to earn a new deal at Crown Meadow.

'There are players playing for their futures at the club but we've got a group of very honest players that are all in it together,' said Gallagher. 'That's what has got us through this season and we are going to need the same spirit again.'

Lowestoft saw off Whitton United in the Suffolk Premier Cup on Wednesday to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to 11 games.

After flirting with being dragged into relegation trouble for much of the season, it is a run that has seen the Blues pull away from the drop zone.

They will be looking to extend their fine run of form when they make the long trip to north Wales although Gallagher acknowledged the travelling could affect his team's performance.

'We won't be staying overnight - we're leaving at 5.45am, which makes it very difficult,' said Gallagher, who will be without Rossi Jarvis, inset, through suspension.

'To expect any player to produce their best after hours on a coach is a big ask but we have met these kinds of challenges head on.

'We want to keep this run going for as long as possible because we are very proud of it.

'I think it's going to be an open game because they need to get a result and it should make for a decent spectacle.'
