Wroxham moved out of the Ryman League North relegation zone last night as they recorded their second win in the space of four days under new manager Damian Hilton.

An 89th minute goal from Nick Davey secured the points as the Yachtsmen followed up Saturday's 1-0 victory over Thamesmead with another hard-fought home success.

After 19 games without a league win, Hilton has engineered a remarkable change in fortunes since taking over from Stuart Larter – although there is obviously still plenty of work to do.

Wroxham's fraility was again exposed last night as they threw away a two goal half-time lead in the space of 11 minutes but at least there was a happy ending for the Trafford Park faithful this time around.

Jack Garrod fired the home side ahead from the penalty spot after 27 minutes and Davey doubled their advantage seven minutes later.

That should have been the platform to secure a comfortable win but Tilbury came storming back after the break.

They reduced the arrears through Jack Carlile on 50 minutes and were back on level terms just after the hour mark, with Greg Cundle getting the goal.

Wroxham were stunned but they kept going, with Davey having the final say to secure three precious points for his side.

The challenge now for Hilton and Wroxham is to keep up the good work, with a tough double-header away from home coming up.

The Yachtsmen visit AFC Hornchurch, currently sitting third in the league table, on Saturday afternoon and follow that up with a trip to mid-table Aveley on Monday evening.
