Another impressive knock from Norfolk youngster Callum Taylor was not enough for England Under-19s to win their final World Cup warm-up match.
The 18-year-old Essex and Swardeston all-rounder is in good form ahead of the tournament, top scoring with 78 in a win over South Africa in Dubai and then scoring 25 runs from 24 balls in victory over Namibia in Chittagong on Saturday.
Those preparations concluded in Bangladesh earlier today as the former Cromer High School pupil struck 36 runs from 51 balls, including three fours and a six, in a heavy loss to the host nation.
Bangladesh set a total of 246 for eight, with captain Brad Taylor, Saqib Mahmood and Dan Lawrence all taking two wickets. England then slumped to nought for three but the Norfolk teen shared a fifth-wicket stand of 56 with Sam Curran, although it wasn't enough as the tourists fell short of their target.
England's first Pool C match is against Fiji on Wednesday, starting at 3am UK time, at the MA Azinz Stadium in Chittagong. Further pool matches against West Indies, on Friday, and Zimbabwe, on Sunday, follow at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
The matches against West Indies and Zimbabwe are both live on Sky Sports, with coverage starting from 2.30am.
