Swaffham Town edged a nine-goal thriller tonight to boost their Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division survival hopes.

The Pedlars won 5-4 at Newmarket Town to climb up to 17th in the 20-team table. Joe Jackson scored four times while Alex Vincent also found the net in their side's crucial victory.

Swaffham had been in the drop zone – now thought to be bottom two rather than bottom three – prior to kick-off. Tomorrow Thetford, 18th, two points behind the Pedlars, visit FC Clacton.

A home draw against Woodbridge for First Division Great Yarmouth, fourth, will be enough to move them back into the third promotion place.
