Harleston Magpies Ladies suffered their second successive defeat – but again it was no disgrace as they went down 3-0 at high-flying Sevenoaks.
Having lost to leaders Wimbledon the previous week, Magpies quickly found themselves behind on Saturday when the hosts converted a short corner.
The visitors did make some headway, with Elizabeth Clymer holding the ball up well while Maria Andrews and Victoria Findlay used their pace and skill to earn some short corners. But Sevenoaks defended well and broke through to score a second before making it 3-0 at the break from another short corner.
Despite having a mountain to climb Magpies had the better of the second half but were unable to find a way back into their penultimate match of the season.
Charlotte Harrison had a great game in midfield while Martha Lawrence and Alice Woollatt performed well on their debuts.
