Word has spread quickly about the Norfolk and Suffolk Flyfishers' first successful Try the Fly session of the season at East Tuddenham last week,
So much so that the April 15 date is now fully booked May 6 is nearly full.
There has been plenty of action on the lakes, with numerous anglers banking double ticket bags.
As well as the usual damsel nymphs, the society have had several quite heavy hatches of buzzers so Sprowston regular Simon Turner's home tied 'Nomis' (Simon backwards) should now really come into its own.
Simon simply winds a peacock hurl along the shank of a size 16 hook, then runs a strip of Mylar along the back as a wing case and finishes with a fine wire rib – very simple, but very effective judging by his catch rate.
On April 8 Hobbs Lake Trout fishery hosts an open day to introduce anglers to the 25-acre season ticket water. Gates open at 9am. Call Chris on 07900 285313.
