Andrew Marshall was in the money this week after a brilliant finish to his second tournament of the year on the Mena Tour.

Playing in the Royal Golf Mohammedia Open in Morocco, the Bawburgh professional finished joint second on seven under par – but ended up sharing the winners' cheque as the one man above him on the leaderboard was an amateur.

Dutch teenager Pierre Verlaar's two-shot success meant Marshall and home player Ahmed Marjan each pocketed $6,000, with the big pay day propelling the Norfolk player up to second in the Order of Merit after two events.

Looking to build on a solid tied sixth finish at the Casablanca Open at nearby Palmeraie Country Club, Marshall started poorly, with a first round of 74 leaving him well off the pace. But from then on he turned on the style, following up a four under 67 by posting a superb 65 featuring six birdies and no dropped shots.
