Ian Culverhouse's patched up King's Lynn Town were no match for promotion chasing Slough Town at Arbour Park.

Three goals inside 50 minutes from Chris Flood, Simon Dunn and Liam Enver–Marum ensured the rebels stayed well in the play off mix as the Southern League season entered its final month.

Despite suffering a third straight defeat boss Culverhouse refused to be downbeat on his young side.

'I can have no criticism of the lads out there,' insisted the Lynn boss. 'They have kept going until the end and the effort they have put in for me is something that has pleased me.

'There is positivity amongst the group because they are youngsters and are learning about the game, the main point is that they continue to learn. I was disappointed in the way we conceded although I have to accept that I got the initial formation wrong.

'Once we changed things slightly I thought we looked that bit more comfortable.'

Culverhouse went on to praise young front man Ryan Harnwell on only his second start for the senior Linnets side.

'Ryan was strong – he held the ball up well and absolutely ran his socks off for the team. We did a little bit of individual coaching with him in the week and yes, I'm pleased with him.

'I am also pleased for Conor (Marshall). That was his first senior outing for 18 months and to last 55 minutes was a good effort. He will hopefully be involved with our remaining four games this season as I want to have a good look at him.'

Culverhouse also had some good and bad news on the Town injury front with the news that Ryan Hawkins is due to return to action following an horrific shin injury sustained in February.

'He is due to have some game time in the reserves on Tuesday and Saturday. It's great news for him and the club to be able to possibly be able to call upon another body before the end of the season. Unfortunately the likes of Ryan (Fryatt), Tom (Ward) and Sam Gaughran) are nowhere near ready to return. So, it is what it is and I would think that next week (away at Dorchester Town) we will have to go with something very similar as we have had today.'

Flood opened the scoring for the hosts early on with a simple back post header early on before Simon Dunn was given far too much space in the Lynn area and he swpet the ball home from James Dobson's low centre.

The game was over as a contest when Enver–Marum's sheer pace saw him round Alex Street and roll the ball into the empty net.

Late on substitute Dylan Edge headed straight at keeper Shaun Rowley in what was probably Lynn's best chance of the game.
