The second week of Horning Sailing Club's season started in brilliant sunshine, blue skies and a gentle breeze – which resulted in a strong turnout, particularly in the Yeoman, YBOD and dinghy fleets.

Shortly after the first series started, the northerly breeze dropped, with burgees swinging 90 degrees, causing some frustration to competitors.

However, all persevered to finish the first race, despite the fluky conditions, and their patience was rewarded, with the breeze picking up nicely during the afternoon's racing.

The six-strong Yeoman fleet saw close competition, with newcomers Chris and Nicky Andrews making a good start with a win in their first race, following up with two fourths.

It was also a good day for Andrew Gallant sailing Tiger Moth with a second and two firsts.

Liz and Phil Ollier and Clive Gardner battled it out in the YBOD fleet, sharing the line honours.
