Schoolhouse are the Norwich Sunday League's 2016/17 League Cup winners after a closely-fought 2-0 victory over Division 1A champions Norman Wanderers in front of a crowd of over 250 at the FDC.
The game was even throughout the first period until eight minutes before the break when Schoolhouse captain Sam Applegate put his side in front with a clever finish.
Wanderers kept plugging away, though, and Ben Whelham was unlucky to see a second-half strike brilliantly tipped over the bar by Asa Swatman.
But with five minutes left on the clock, Schoolhouse were awarded a penalty following a handball in the box and the spot-kick was duly despatched by Brendan Burke.
So the 2016/17 season ended with Schoolhouse lifting the trophy, but the 1A champions gave a very good account of themselves and will prove to be a tough nut to crack in the Premier Division next season.
