Ian Culverhouse enjoyed his best playing days in football at Carrow Road – now he hopes it will see him to a first honour as a manager.
The legendary Norwich City defender and former assistant to Paul Lambert's whirlwind success, takes on his first final as a manager in his own right on Monday night (7.30pm), when his King's Lynn Town side face Fakenham Town for this year's Norfolk Senior Cup.
'I mean, you've always got to start somewhere and it would be nice to start at the place where I've got a little bit of history and some good fortune, so hopefully on Monday night it continues,' said the Linnets boss.
'I'm looking forward to going back, but it's really not about me. It's about the boys and I really hope we can put in a performance. It's a fantastic arena and the pitch is in superb condition, even at this end of the season.
'There is still that excitement for them to play at Carrow Road. You don't get the chance often to go to the stadium and the facilities they are going to encounter on Monday. So I hope they take it all in, aren't overawed by it all, go out there and do themselves justice.'
Lynn are undeniably favourites given the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division side are coming up a Ghosts squad that plays two levels lower, in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.

'We look strong favourites but I've been in football long enough to know it doesn't always pan out like that; it's who turns up on the day and performs,' added Culverhouse. 'We're expecting a very hard game but hopefully we're prepared and the boys turn in a performance that makes themselves proud.
'We've had two weeks off and our last training session on Thursday, you could see the rust in them. Hopefully that's out of our system now.
'Our ladies have won their cup. The reserve team won theirs, so there's a little bit of pressure on us – but it's all good banter.
'It would be nice for the fans as well. They haven't seen us perform on a consistent level. So it'd be nice to finish on a high then we can row into the summer with good enthusiasm.'
The Linnets' attacking options will be short of Toby Hilliard, who is out after undergoing knee surgery. Dylan Edge (knee) and Leon Mettam are also sidelined, however the rest of Culverhouse's squad is available.
