Alfie Hewett has qualified for his first singles semi-final at a grand slam event following victory in his opening match at the French Open.
The 19-year-old wheelchair tennis star, from Cantley, near Acle, came back from 2-1 in the first set against Sweden's Stefan Olsson to take the first set on a tie-break.
He then wrapped up the second set 6-3 to seal his progress, where he will now face Japan's former world number one Shingo Kunieda on Friday, first up on court six at Roland Garros from 12pm UK time.
'I'm really happy to get to my first Grand Slam singles semi-final,' Hewett said. 'Stefan's always a tough opponent and our last few matches have been pretty close. But that's the fourth win in a row against him, so I I'm really pleased with my performance.
'Shingo's got a great record here at Roland Garros, so I'm expecting another tough match in the semi-final, but I'll me giving it my all.'
The former City College Norwich student will then be action again later on as teams up with British number one Gordon Reid in the doubles – the man he won the Wimbledon doubles title and Paralympic doubles silver with last year.
The second seeds face Gustavo Fernandez and Maikel Scheffers in the semi-finals. The match is third on court eight so expected to begin mid-afternoon.
