The large crowds were treated to a cracking race as local talent battled with some of the best runners from around the UK, in the event organised by City of Norwich Athletic Club (CoNAC).
With entry limited to those capable of finishing the 5km course in under 20 minutes, and automatic disqualification for those failing to make the halfway point in 10 minutes, this race always attracts a high-calibre field.
John Beattie from Newham & Essex Beagles was first man home in 14 minutes 35 seconds, closely followed by CoNAC's Tom Hook (14:37). CoNAC's Alex Dunbar (14:47) was fourth. Helen Davies of Ipswich JAFFA RC was the fastest lady by more than half a minute, completing the two-lap course in 16:45.
