Lowestoft Town suffered their third defeat in four games since Dale Brooks replaced Ady Gallagher as manager after a night to forget in Essex.
The Blues were up against it from the moment they conceded in the seventh minute, with mid-table hosts Thurrock going on to complete a comfortable 3-0 success.
It was Brooks' first away match at the helm following three games at the Amber Dew Events Stadium that had yielded just three points, from a 1-0 win over Merstham on Saturday.
Any hopes of double boost took a knock on Tuesday night when Remi Sutton opened the scoring early on and the task got even tougher on 28 minutes as Lewis Spence made it 2-0.
Thurrock added a third on 51 minutes when Ronnie Winn added his name to scoresheet and there was no way back for Lowestoft after that.
