Danish star Thomas Jorgensen is ruled out of King's Lynn Stars' Premiership home fixture with Somerset on Wednesday night.

The 25-year-old is missing with a chest infection. The Stars will now employ rider replacement for Jorgensen at number four with everyone eligible to take one of his outings except guest number one Sam Masters.

'Thomas was suffering pretty badly at Rye House on Monday and was officially withdrawn following his spill in heat 14,' team boss Dale Allitt told the club's official site. 'He physically couldn't hold on to the bike and illness wise he got progressively worse as the night went on.

'He's been on antibiotics but he's still not fit enough to take his place tonight unfortunately.

'We wish him a speedy recovery but in the meantime we have to focus on the fixture with Somerset.

'We've been going well at home this season but we know it's going to require another solid effort to continue that run.

'It's not going to be easy because Somerset have got some capable riders, including world champion Jason Doyle.

'So hopefully the fans will turn out in big numbers and give our riders plenty of support on another big night for the Stars.'
