King's Lynn Town boss Simon Clark doesn't expect the pressure on him to ease until he manages to halt his side's recent poor form.

The Linnets were held to a 2-2 draw at The Walks against Thurlow Nunn Premier Division side Histon, who play two steps below Clark's men in the non-league pyramid.

It means both sides will have to do it all again on Tuesday night in the replay at the Glassworld Stadium when Clark knows only victory will keep his critics at bay.

'When luck goes against you and things happen what do you do? You get on with it, stand up, stick together and work even harder,' he said. 'Unfortunately, one or two players fell away from that today. The positive thing is that we've kept going and we're in the hat for Tuesday.

'Until we are in the top six or eight of the league, I don't expect the pressure to ease but that comes with the job.'

The Linnets were twice forced to come from behind against the Stutes and at times it was difficult to tell which side operated at a higher level.

Ryan Fryatt headed over at the far post, Craig Parker failed to convert a Frazer Blake-Tracy centre, and Nathan Stewart struck the post with a curling effort.

But it was Histon who took the lead against the run of play in the 19th minute after Dan Brown smashed home a flick-on from Danny Gould.

Stewart levelled the scores from close-range eight minutes later but the Cambridgeshire outfit took the lead for a second time when Lance Key punished the hosts for ball watching at a corner.

Lynn showed little attacking intent after the interval and it wasn't until the final ten minutes that Clark's side showed the necessary urgency required to get themselves back into the tie.

Despite another mediocre performance, the team showed great character to earn themselves a second bite of the cherry when Blake-Tracy sidefooted home with three minutes left on the clock.
