The recent recruit to City's Academy scored with a header from a corner to help the Republic to a 2-0 win over hosts Azerbaijan in a qualifying group tie. Kurtis Byrne was also involved from the start while a third Norwich player, Kris Renton, had to withdraw through injury.
The Irish drew their first game with Denmark 0-0 and a draw with Latvia in their final fixture today will see them through to the second qualifying round next year.
