Mohammad Wasim was again the star turn as Norwich & Coltishall Wanderers turned up the championship race heat yet further. The Pakistan international's third consecutive Lovewell Blake Norfolk Cricket Alliance century helped Wanderers to their sixth successive Premier Division win, by 182 runs against Old Buckenham. They stay third in the table, but, with four fixtures left, are now only one point behind North Runcton and within 16 of long-time leaders Great Witchingham.

Witchingham, whose 12-match unbeaten run was ended by Wanderers the previous weekend, lost again on Saturday, by two wickets at Downham Market.

Runcton had a losing draw against Vauxhall Mallards at Brundall.

Witchingham have still to visit North Runcton, but their other remaining matches are against teams in the bottom four - Cromer (h), Topcroft (h) and Beccles (a).

Runcton have also still to play Wanderers at Barton Turf, with their other games at Swardeston and at home to Downham.

Wanderers' other outstanding fixtures are against Downham (h), Cromer (a) and Topcroft (a).

Wasim hit 111 not out and Felix Flower 68 as Wanderers made 263 for five before bowling out Old Buckenham for 81, with Nigel Young taking five for 10 and Wasim four for 19.

Alex Stuart scored 83 as Downham surpassed Witchingham's 261 for six total, to which Carl Rogers contributed 135, including 20 fours and a six.

Now boasting 1154 Alliance runs, Rogers needs just 18 more to beat the aggregate record he set last summer.

Lonwabo Tsubsube took four for 35 to help restricted Runcton to 144 for nine after Mallards had posted 225 for seven, with Peter Free scoring 79 and Alex Patmore 62.

Swardeston are bottom of the table after a losing draw at Cromer, for whom Tom Davies (96) and Chris Carey (94) featured in a club record 207-run fifth-wicket stand.

Beccles moved up to second from bottom with a winning draw at Topcroft, where Gavin Ewing scored 107 and Richard Porter 52.

Division One leaders Brooke lost by 20 runs at Saxlingham and are now only 10 points ahead of Acle, who beat Stow by 27 runs. Dersingham are just five points further adrift after a winning draw at Sprowston.

Michael Durrant hit 65 and Richard Southgate 62 for Dersingham, while Geoff Roff scored 101 and Greig Nicholl 42 for Sprowston.

Hamish Barton hit 91 as Diss beat Lowestoft by five wickets at Denes Oval.

Saham Toney maintained their advantage over Mattishall at the head of Division Two after both had winning draws, respectively against Garboldisham and Fakenham.

Sheringham beat Mundford by 69 runs to move to within three points of Division Three leaders Dereham, who had a winning draw against East Harling. Third-placed fellow promotion contenders Horsford also had a winning draw, against Beccles.
