Peter Grant has confirmed his interest in Crewe defender John Otsemobor.
The 24-year-old is out of contract in the summer and Crewe boss Dario Gradi says he is free to go - claiming Carrow Road was a likely destination.
City boss Grant said that the former Liverpool man was one of several City had on their list of possibles.
"John is one of the guys we have looked at, like anybody else," he said. "There is no doubt of his talent, good background as well. We know he is out of contract, we know all the things, but he is one of many players we have looked at. You are always interested in good players and if we can afford to get the best players available to us we will try our best to do that. There are a lot of guys we have looked at and that have been interesting. Whether we can afford them and whether we can get them is a totally different matter."
