Swardeston could take the first step towards an unprecedented quadruple of silverware tonight when they face Norwich in the final of the Norfolk 20/20 Cup at Manor Park, 6pm.

It is the first time that Swardeston have been in the final, although Norwich reached the last two in the inaugural year of the competition in 2005, before losing to Vauxhall Mallards.

Competition chairman Marcus Wilkinson said: "Swardeston have come in this year and added strength to the competition and it is just about as strong as it can get at the moment, although we always meet after the final to reassess how we can improve and there are always little things you can tinker with to make it better."

One of the major obstacles this year has been the weather and Wilkinson added: "It has been difficult. We've lost four games through rain and before that we'd only lost one in the last two years.

"It makes it difficult to get the wickets dry enough to play and we've sometimes had to play on damp wickets, so there probably have not been as many runs this year. But people have been understanding and everyone has enjoyed it, so hopefully we will get a good crowd to watch the final."

There will be a contest within the contest tonight as Norwich bowlers Paul Wiseman and Simon Key vie for the leading wicket-taker trophy, as both have taken nine wickets in the competition so far this year. Meanwhile, Swardeston's Jaden Hatwell will be aiming to secure the trophy for hitting the most sixes, having blasted eight maximums already.

Entrance costs £2.50, including a programme.
