Dereham maintained their unbeaten record with a one sided 2-0 win over a poor Bedford team - in the process recording their first-ever Premier A clean sheet in almost four years of trying.

Learning their lesson from the previous week, they pressed Bedford into their own half for much of the game, though that meant they were unable to play to their main attacking strength - the pace of Mike Timm and Steve Jackson. But the game changed when Mark Hunter was shown the red card for an off the ball incident.

Against 10 players, Bedford fancied their chances and made a few forays forward. Ironically this played into the counter-attacking strengths of the home side - who scored both of their goals within five minutes through Timm and Mark Braybrook.

Harleston Magpies top the table - on the same number of points as second-placed St Albans - after a

5-2 home win over Bishop's Stortford.

Wisbech consolidated their position at the top of Premier B with a 9-0 thrashing of Chelmsford 2nds. They were ahead inside two minutes through Dan Martell and Brad Apted quickly added the second.

A disputed third from Luke Smith - Chelmsford vehemently disputing that he had got a deflection to a shot from outside the circle by Sam Blunt - was followed by Apted's second.

Another five goals followed in the second half as Martell and Apted both completed hat-tricks, Apted collecting a fourth before Blunt completed the rout.

Norwich City had a tour of Lincolnshire, searching for the venue of their match against Bourne.

Having discovered that it was Stamford they won 3-1 - their first away win of the season - with goals from Sibson, Brine (penalty) and Will Defoe.

Division Three NE leaders Dereham 2nds won 4-2 at North Walsham. They were two-up within 15 minutes before a spectacular goal by Olly Whitworth gave Walsham hope.

Dereham went 4-1 up before Walsham played their best hockey in the final 15 minutes, Richard Nickerson hitting the home team's second.

Dereham 4ths beat North Walsham 2nds by the same scoreline in Division Five NE.

Thetford won 3-1 at Harleston with goals from Lee Godbold, David Anderson and Nobes.

Norwich Union 4ths beat Bury 4ths 3-2 with two goals from Alan Quinton and one from Ady Kemp.

In Division Six NE Norwich City 6ths lost 1-0 at Bury 5ths - who scored the only goal two minutes from time. A consolation was an encouraging debut from James Turner in defence.
