Fifty years after the original launch, Desira Fiat dealers are unveiling the all-new Fiat 124 Spider sports car.
The soft-top two-seater, from £19,545 on the road, is being launched this weekend at Desira in Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Diss and Bury St Edmunds with the unveiling on Saturday at 10am.
Already all 124 special UK-specification Passione Red Fiat 124 Spider Anniversary Edition models, commemorating the 50th anniversary of original roadster's unveiling, have sold and order banks for the standard models are building steadily.
Sebastiano Fedrigo, Fiat UK head of brand, said of the success of the 124 Anniversary Edition: 'The interest in Fiat's reborn roadster has been incredible and that's before most people have even seen the car in the metal. Once the Fiat 124 Spider hits the streets and showrooms, even more people will begin to fall for its style and presence and once they drive it, they will be hooked.'
Powered by Fiat's proven 140hp, 1.4-litre, MultiAir, turbo petrol engine, with a six-speed manual gearbox, it is capable of accelerating to 62mph in 7.5 seconds and has a top speed of 134mph.
The rear-wheel drive chassis offers a dynamic and exciting Italian driving experience without compromising comfort and refinement while the multi-layer canvas hood can be opened and closed by hand in seconds from the driver's seat.
Three trim levels will be offered in the UK – Classica, Lusso and Lusso Plus.
