15 hours to go and no chairs or tables, cutlery, crockery or linen. Don't panic, said Norfolk firm who saved the day
While suppliers for weddings prefer plenty of notice, don't panic if it's the night before the big day and something is missing.
Norfolk family firm Banqueting Hire once supplied an entire wedding on 15 hours notice.
Well known for not only helping party and wedding planners, the Pulham Market company steps in to help halls and hotels when they need extra items or something is forgotton.
'A call came in at 6pm one Friday evening saying another supplier had let them down and we were on site with everything at 9am the next day with the equipment for the wedding that afternoon,' says David Robinson, Banqueting Hire manager.
From super cool ghost chairs to traditional matching napkins and table runners, the family team at The Banqueting Hire Service can organise it all.
Whether it's an anniversary party in the garden for 25 family members, a 60th birthday in the village hall for 100 friends or a big wedding in a marquee, they have extra chairs, crockery, cutlery, glasses, chair covers, dance floors and much more.
Thinking of everything from decorating the table to what the cake will stand on and even a knife to cut it with is what they do best.
'We're busy,' says David.
Busy can mean a summer ball at the Royal Norfolk Showground for 2000 people, plus 40 or 50 smaller events spread all over East Anglia in the same week.
Every party organiser, caterer or bride selects what they need, from fridges, ovens and hot cupboards for the catering to the style of cutlery and crockery, table centrepieces, linen and themed furniture.
There's a vast choice; chairs alone range from the vintage lime washed Chivari to contemporary ice chairs. A large selection of chair pad colours means they can be matched or contrasted with tablecloths, table runners, table centres and napkins.
This year's new items include ghost chairs - previously only accessible through London companies at huge expense. David and his team are excited to bring these chairs to East Anglia.
