A Thornham business has been named as one of the UK finest fledging fish and chip shops in a country-wide competition.
As part of the 2017 National Fish & Chip Awards, businesses were appraised across a variety of judging criteria including innovative approaches to running a new fish and chip shop, promotional activity undertaken and approaches to sustainable and responsible sourcing of fish and other ingredients.
Eric's Fish and Chips in Thornham and the other shortlisted businesses will now be subjected to mystery shopping assessments by industry experts, and the UK's top 3 finalists will then compete for the best newcomer award at the awards ceremony in London on January 26, 2017.
The competition is open to independent fish and chip businesses that have only been operating since October 1, 2014.
