Lisa Pearl Jermy, 16, of Margaret Paston Avenue in Mile Cross, died at the scene of the collision on the corner of Magdalen Road and Waterloo Road at 11.45pm on Friday.

An 18-year-old man sustained a broken cheek bone and cuts to the head and face and is still receiving treatment at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

A 16-year-old youth was also admitted to hospital with cuts to the head and was later released, along with two females who suffered minor injuries.

The youth, aged 17, is due to appear before Norwich magistrates tomorrow.

Norfolk's roads saw a spate of accidents at the weekend, including a crash at East Wretham, between Thetford and Watton, in which a woman in her 40s was killed.

The woman, who has not been named, was driving a BMW 320D when it collided with a silver Toyota Avensis and landed in a ditch on the A1075 near the Wretham nature reserve at 4.35pm on Friday.

Police said yesterday they were trying to trace the driver of a Range Rover who warned traffic approaching the crash scene to slow down.

The driver, travelling towards Thetford, flashed the car's headlights to warn oncoming vehicles.

The 66-year-old female driver of the Toyota sustained a broken right thighbone and was airlifted to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital also suffering from shock.

A 41-year-old motorcyclist involved in a crash at Loddon is in a serious but stable condition after suffering internal injuries, including a broken pelvis, on the A146 at about 6.50am on Saturday .

His black Yamaha motorbike was in collision with a Fiat Ducato van close to the junction Stubbs Green Lane.

A 71-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene and was later released on police bail pending further enquries.

In a second incident at 8pm that night, a 33-year-old motorcyclist was taken to the James Paget University Hospital with head and pelvis injuries after his Suzuki 750cc motorcycle was in collision with a grey Mini Cooper.

The accident happened on the A149 with the junction with the B1152 at Repps with Bastwick.

At Garboldisham, between Thetford and Diss, fire crews had to cut a driver free after three cars collided on The Street, close to The Fox pub, at 4.30pm on Saturday.

The driver sustained non life-threatening injuries.

And on the A47 near Honingham, a person was trapped in a car after the caravan it was towing overturned just before 11.15am on Saturday .
