Wymondham Symphony Orchestra has announced its spring concert will be a performance of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade in the beautiful surroundings of Wymondham Abbey.

The orchestral piece by the Russian composer was inspired by the collection of stories known as The Thousand and One Nights or The Arabian Nights.

Each of the four movements in Scheherazade takes its name from one of the original One Thousand and One nights stories and combines typical features of Russian music and those particular to Rimsky-Korsakov's style.

Also on the programme for the evening is Holst's St Paul's Suite for Strings and Suite in E Flat for Wind/Brass, plus Beethoven's Overture Leonora III.

The performance will take place on from 7.30pm on Saturday, March 25.
