A woman was flown to hospital after a crash involving her car and a sugar beet lorry which left the road blocked for hours.

The crash happened on Thurlton Road in Raveningham, near Loddon, just before 2pm on Thursday. Two land ambulances and a rapid response vehicle also attended, and helped to free the woman who was trapped in her silver Volvo. She was taken to Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge by air ambulance and was believed to be in a serious condition. The lorry driver was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. The white lorry overturned, blocking the road with sugar beet, and a telephone pole was knocked over in the crash. Police also attended to deal with the incident.
