Police are investigating a suspected 'road rage' incident in which two cars clashed twice on their way into Thetford.

The first collision, between a black Vauxhall Astra and a brown Rover 75, happened at 5.40pm on January 22, on the A134 Mundford Road, near the entrance to the Abbey Farm Estate.

The two cars continued into the town centre, where they struck each other again in the Market Place, outside Mr Chips.

Police are seeking witnesses and are particularly keen to hear from the driver of a dark-coloured car who was travelling in the opposite direction on Mundford Road and may have seen the initial collision.

A Norfolk police spokesman said: 'Both drivers are accusing the other of causing a road rage incident. We have two conflicting accounts of these events, so we need independent witnesses to help us work out what happened.'

Anyone with information should contact Sgt Dave McCormack at Thetford Police Station on 0845 456 4567 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
