The Wells lifeboat crew put to sea today to help the two crew of a motorboat that had suffered mechanical problems.
The man and boy on board the 22ft Shetland craft, called Bikini Bottom, asked for assistance from the town's Royal National Lifeboat Institution station just before noon, said RNLI spokesman John Mitchell.
The inshore lifeboat was launched and went out to find the stricken craft on the outer approaches to Wells harbour before taking it in tow and returning it to its moorings.
Nobody was hurt.
