The fourth series starts six months on from the 2012 Christmas special, when Downton heir Matthew Crawley was tragically killed in a car accident on the day his baby son was born.
On Sunday viewers will see the family reeling in the aftermath of the terrible tragedy but with new life, in the form of babies George and Sybbie, there is new hope as the Downton community takes tentative steps into the Roaring Twenties.
• The new series of Downton Abbey starts on ITV1 on Sunday at 9pm.
