Almost a month's rainfall fell in parts of the region over the Easter weekend.
Local forecaster Dan Holley tweeted on Tuesday to say that the March regional monthly average is 44mm, while in April it is 45mm.
But he said from Good Friday to Easter Monday, parts of the east almost matched the month-long total.
In Wittering, Cambridgeshire, 42mm fell over the four days, along with 41mm in Cromer, 40mm in Weybourne, 39mm in Tibenham and 35mm at Houghton Hall and Santon Downham.
The heavy rain saw cars become stuck in flooding, bank holiday events cancelled and sports clashes postponed.
