Shot from the top of an ancient monument these stunning pictures and time lapse video show the sun setting over Thetford.

Although only 28 seconds long, teenage photographer Kevin Gorman spent more than three hours sitting on Castle Hill to capture the changing colours of the sky.

As the sun starts to set over what appears to be a natural landscape, the night clouds roll in and suddenly the town appears as street and house lights are turned on.

Mr Gorman, who lives in Thetford, said he wanted to show Thetford in a positive light.

He said: 'A lot of the videos and pictures I take are to show the good side of Thetford rather than the negative side.

'People seem to like it, so it was worth making. I love sun sets and sun rises.'

Although he currently works in IT, the 18-year-old has started his own photography business called Shutter Up Photography.

He started taking pictures at the age of three, and usually spends his time capturing the beautiful scenery and nature at the Nunnery Lakes Reserve, which is part of the British Trust for Ornithology.

'I like getting out in nature and meeting people you wouldn't normally meet,' said Mr Gorman. 'It also gets me out of the house.'

The photographer used a Canon 60D to take the pictures and the time lapse was captured on a Lumix G7.

Castle Hill, an Iron Age hill fort, has been at the centre of a storm surrounding a set of stairs constructed to preserve the site.
