Pensioners have been warned to be on their guard after a con artist tried to trick an elderly person into revealing their bank details.
Officers at Norfolk Trading Standards said a man in the county had received a call from someone claiming to be checking his bank details prior to the payment of the forthcoming winter fuel allowance, something the government agency confirmed that they would not do.
