Residents have been encouraged to vote in this year's Wymondham in Bloom flower competition.

The event will run until June 23, when the winners will be announced on stage in the town centre during the Wymondham Carnival on June 23.

Wymondham in Bloom is being organised by the Wymondham Business Group for the second time after it started last year.

The group's treasurer, Martin Ford, said: 'I can't wait to see what creative and imaginative displays our shopkeepers and businesses come up with this year and I'm looking forward to seeing the town become a-wash with flowers again.'

Last year, flowers were displayed in wellington boots, suit cases, shoes and even chests of drawers.

Voting slips are available from shops including Reno Wines, Mad Hatter's Tea Shop, Puff's Toy Shop, Footsure, Disney Deli, Howards Cycles and Wymondham Garden Centre. There will be a first, second and third prize winner as well as an award for 'most creative'.

There will also be prizes for voters including a bottle of wine and a garden centre voucher.
