From outer space to our fine city – the creators of a Star Wars-inspired film set in Norwich have released an outtakes film to boost their fundraising drive for charity.
James Sutherland and Simon Wilkie, both from Norwich, posted their fan film, R2's Wish, on YouTube to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, which aims to grant wishes for young people fighting life-threatening conditions.
The mini-movie, featuring droids R2-D2 and C-3PO, was shot at Norwich Market, the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and the Style gym in Ber Street, and sees C-3PO going in search of his fellow droid.
Mr Sutherland said they have been delighted with the response to R2's Wish and so decided to post the outtakes film online, which includes previously unseen footage of C-3PO interacting with passers by.
The short film's profile is also set to get a further boost next month as it is set to be mentioned on the Channel 5 show Age Gap Love. Mr Sutherland, 28, and his girlfriend Yet Wha Lam, 48, are due to appear on the programme at 10pm on February 11, and while making the show last year the Channel 5 team filmed Mr Sutherland filming R2's Wish.
Mr Sutherland produced and directed R2's Wish while Mr Wilkie, who plays C-3PO, devised and scripted it. R2-D2 was built and operated by Adam Strawson, while the music is by Jamie Robertson.
R2's Wish and the outtakes movies are free to watch on YouTube, but all money raised by advertising revenue will go to Make-A-Wish Foundation UK.
People can also donate to Make-A-Wish Foundation via Mr Wilkie's online JustGiving page www.justgiving.com/c3po/
