Her great great grandmother sang for Queen Victoria, years later her grandparents fell in love over a sing-song and now 14-year-old Olivia Watson is hoping to make it big with her vocal skills following a Britain's Got Talent audition.
The Aylsham High School pupil took part in the first stages of the competition during an audition at The Wharf Academy in Norwich and will have to wait two months before finding out if she is successful to go onto the filming stages held in London in December.
She said: 'It's quite nerve-wracking but it's also really exciting and I am ecstatic.'
Miss Watson sang her first solo 'Over the Rainbow' aged just 11 at her then school, Aldborough Primary.
Since then she has gone on to sing in Norwich-based rock and soul choir, Invidia Voices, with her 44-year-old mum Mary Watson, winning its talent show On My Own to receive recording time with Ashwood Studios and to feature her backing vocals on an album.
But it seems that singing is in her blood.
Her great great grandmother, Harriet Watson nee Leech, was chosen to sing solo at the age of 17 for Queen Victoria in London in 1857. And it was her grandfather Wes Watson's 'deep baritone' voice which made her grandmother Joan fall in love with him after she heard him singing during a social night out.
Her sister Elly Watson, 16, is also studying Music Business and her mum's partner Rob Bindley, 24, has recently performed guitar alongside her at a concert held at St Andrew's Church in her home village of Little Barningham, near Holt.
Miss Watson said: 'It went pretty well and I got very emotional. Having all my family and friends there in one building - it meant a lot to me.
'If I don't go through to the next stages of Britain's Got Talent it will be okay though. There are other ways of getting into the business and I'm fortunate enough to only be 14.'
Miss Watson also has ambitions of opening a healing centre and tea shop with her mum.
