The emergency services were called yesterday lunchtime to reports of a man who was stuck in the mud banks after falling from the edge of the South Quay jetty.
A specialist team from the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service managed to reach the man, who was taken away from the scene by ambulance.
A video has since appeared on social media of the rescue operation which happened at around 1pm yesterday.
Bob Ayers, Station Manager in King's Lynn for the fire service, said: 'We were called to reports of a man who had gone off the edge of the quay outside the Marriott's Warehouse restaurant.
'The team managed to get him back to safety and on the jetty within around 25 minutes and he was taken away by ambulance.'
