Motorists were warned to avoid the A140 near Diss this morning, following an oil tanker fire.

The road was closed northbound at Scole between the A143 junction and the A1066 The Street junction.

Two Norfolk fire crews helped Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service with the lorry fire, which was called into the service at 5.01am as being in Stuston, Suffolk.

Police were called shortly afterwards to assist with road closures.

The road was initially closed in both directions, but was re-opened southbound at around 7am.
