Update: Gas leak fixed and road reopened in Norwich city centre following closure of St Vedast Street

A gas leak closed a busy road in Norwich city centre this morning.

Emergency services attended the scene on St Vedast Street to ensure safety of the site for the utilities companies worked to fix the fault.

One appliance from Carrow and one from Earlham are were on site.

Police vehicles closed the road while the work was underway.

The road is home to the city's Travelodge and is a busy through route from Prince of Wales Road to Rose Lane.
