Pupils at Cromer Junior School will return to their classrooms tomorrow, Thursday, after having an extra day added on to their Christmas holiday due to a heating system failure.

The 240 youngsters were due to return to classes again today Wednesday but the school was shut due to a problem with the boiler tank discovered during a staff training day on Tuesday said head Steve Godson.

This morning staff did an extra day's training being kept warm by fan heaters, while engineers replaced the tank.

In mid-morning the school on Norwich Road announced that it would be open again on Thursday morning.

Mr Godson said he was disappointed at the closure, as the school had stayed open during last winter's big freeze when many others had shut.
