Police believe a body found in Diss Mere this afternoon to be that of missing 71-year-old Derek Alden.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the Mere in the town centre at 2pm and were seen examining the water by the Mere's embankment near Diss Town Council's offices in Market Hill.
They were later joined by a team of police divers.
Mr Alden was last seen at his home address in Skelton Road at 8am yesterday.
