Two motorists are in hospital with serious injuries following a multi vehicle accident near Diss.

Emergency services were called to the A140 at Dickleburgh at about 5.30pm yesterday after the crash involving three cars on the north bound carriageway.

The main Norwich-Ipswich road was closed for nearly five hours following the incident between a blue Ford Fiesta, green Fiat Punto, and blue Vauxhall Vectra.

Firefighters from Long Stratton, Norwich, and Harleston, attended and used hydraulic rescue equipment to release two of the trapped motorists.

Two people suffered minor injuries whilst two others had had serious leg injuries and were taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital by land ambulance.

The A140 was eventually reopened at 10.20pm on Sunday .
