Two men were due to appear at Lowestoft magistrates court this morning charged with robbery following an incident at a home in the town's High Street on Tuesday evening (April 9).

Police were called after reports that an 18-year-old man had been threatened and assaulted and items including a safe and a games console had been stolen from his home about 7pm to 7.30pm.

Several people have been arrested in connection with this incident and two – Ryan Pooley, 18, of Hollingsworth Road, and Clint Scott, 20, from Lowestoft High Street – have now been charged with robbery.

A police spokesman said: 'Both have been detained in custody overnight to appear at Lowestoft magistrates court this morning, Thursday, April 11. A 17-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and has been bailed to return to police on May 8, while three other people – a 33-year-old man, a 34-year-old woman and an 18-year-old woman – also arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods, remain in custody where they are being interviewed by detectives.'
