Two donkeys were killed in a collision with a van on the B1332 in Poringland this morning.
The incident happened on the B1332 Bungay Road between the Poringland junction and the Brooke junction shortly before 6.30am.
A police spokesman said a van had collided with the animals and that the driver had been uninjured, but that the two donkeys had sadly died at the scene.
The road was closed in both directions as the scene was cleared.
The owner of the donkeys was called to collect the animals at 7.20am and the road was cleared and reopened by 8am.
