The BBC's Norfolk coverage of the local Children in Need appeal has got off to a flying start after Norwich Renault dealer Holden lent the campaign a Kangoo Van Maxi.

The dealership in Heigham Street has loaned the spacious van to help presenters and BBC staff get around the area to see what members of the local community have planned for the Children in Need fund-raising appeal which will televised on Friday.

The van has also been sign-written for the occasion by local company CIM Graphics.

Phil Miller, sales manager at Holden Renault, said: 'The Children in Need appeal is such a positive event which does a great deal to change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people. 'The BBC team was looking for a van, similar to the one in the current TV preview which sees the EastEnders cast jump out of a van, and we were delighted to do something practical by lending them the newly-launched Kangoo Van Maxi.

'The team here at Holden is also planning a series of fund-raising events and we're looking forward to entertaining customers all for this good cause. Customers can also come into Holdens at anytime and donate to the appeal.'
