The Norfolk Broads Yacht Club (NBYC), the largest yacht club in the county, celebrated its 75th anniversary with the help of Holden Motors.

As part of festivities last weekend NBYC partnered with Holden Motors to provide a little added extra for members, specifically on the Sunday.

In line with Volvo Cars' ongoing support of British sailing, encouraging the next generation of Olympic sailors at a grass roots level, Holden Motors secured London 2012 Olympic Match Race Girls sailor Lucy Macgregor to be a guest speaker. She was at the club throughout the day on Sunday, when the main celebrations took place.

As well as attending the formal three-course club dinner in the evening, Olympian Macgregor also held an exclusive coaching session for the junior members of the club on land before they took to the water. Once on the water, she then provided coaching advice and encouragement to the juniors as they raced each other in the afternoon sunshine.

Local Volvo dealer Holden Motors has a long history of working with the 800-member strong NBYC and as well as delivering the star speaker, also supplied a new top-of-the-range XC90 4x4 in 75th anniversary NBYC branding for display over the weekend, demonstrating the commitment to the club.

Kerry Grady, marketing executive at Holden Motors, said: 'Our sponsorship of the Norfolk Broads Yacht Club 75th anniversary celebrations was a great success and we were pleased to be included as part of the fun over the weekend.

'With Volvo Cars' sailing sponsorship we were in the perfect position to be able to give that something extra, in the form of Lucy Macgregor, that was befitting for the weekend revelry. Such was the success of the partnership that we hope to work with NBYC again before the end of the year.'
